It all began back in 1998 when I started working for KBFM-(B104) and KTEX. I started off working as a secretary for the radio stations and within a year I was offered a weekend board operator position. Eventually that job turned into a DJ position. At the time, the evening and weekend show Midnight/Sunday Night Magic was a hit on the airwaves.  I eventually had the opportunity to host Sunday Night Magic on my own. My first on-air name was "Ruben C". Almost two years later, I left B-104 and went to work with KFRQ-Q94.5. I worked weekends and overnights. I was known as “Grooving Ruben” and "Lars" at the time. Six to eight months later Q94.5 and our sister stations Que Pasa 99.5, and 107.9 KVLY were purchased by Entravision Communications. Entravision also had a fourth radio station, KVPA-FM (Hot 101.1). Around 2002, Hot 101 became the first ever Hip-Hop radio station in the RGV. I had the opportunity to work afternoons from 3-7pm on Hot 101 but before I could take the job, I was given a new on-air name; “DJ Domino”. I was a huge hit in the afternoons and started the first ever live hip-hop DJ mix show with a fellow DJ. I had great success with Hot101 and worked at the various clubs throughout the region including Graham Central Station, Club Fuego, and El Antro.  Eventually I left Entravision Communications and moved over to BMP Radio. I helped launch KJAV- Jammin 104.9-95.3 and KBUC-102.1-97.7 & 840AM Real Country.  In 2004 I was given the opportunity to work as an Assistant Engineer for BMP Radio. After a year, in 2005 I was given the duties as Chief Engineer to maintain all twelve radio stations by myself.  (I did this up until 2009). Years later I would return to Mix 107.9-KVLY and host the nightly hookup show. Months later, I would return back to the engineering field and still DJ on the side part time. (I even returned back to KJAV-FM and KBFM for a short time as well). To this day DJ Domino is still going strong!
